At Brooks & Family Equine Retirement, our mission goes beyond providing a safe and loving final home for retired horses. We believe our horses still have so much to give. Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, we hope to create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to connect with our horses in a welcoming and peaceful environment. Whether we're spending time with Veterans, individuals with disabilities, children, older adults, or members of our community who simply need a little time with a gentle friend, our goal is to create moments that matter. Sometimes the greatest connections don't require words—just a quiet place, a kind horse, and the opportunity to be together.
Volunteering
There is always something to do around the farm! Volunteers can help us care for our horses, maintain their home, prepare for events, support fundraisers, and much more. You don't have to be a horse expert to make a difference—just bring a willingness to help and a heart for our mission.
Donating
Every donation to Brooks & Family Equine Retirement helps us provide our horses with the safe, comfortable, and loving retirement they deserve. Your support helps provide daily necessities like feed, supplements, tack, and supplies, while also covering routine preventative care and veterinary needs as they arise. Donations also help us maintain the barn, pastures, and facilities our horses call home. Keeping these spaces safe, accessible, and well cared for not only benefits our herd, but also helps us provide a welcoming environment for the individuals, families, Veterans, community groups, and people of all abilities who come to BFER to connect with our horses. Whether big or small, every gift plays a part in caring for our herd and helping BFER continue making a difference in the community around us.
